Christmas Sugar Cookies
Quick and Easy Sugar Cookie Recipe
1 large egg 2 tsps baking powder 1 cup butter 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 3/4 cups flour 1 cup sugar
Cream sugar and butter. Add egg, vanilla. Mix all dry ingredients and add slowly to butter cream mixture until incorporated. Roll out on lightly floured board to desired thickness. Cutout 2-1/2 hearts and bake at 400° for 8- 10 minutes. Should be light in color with light browning on the edges.
Chocolate Meringue Drops - Cookie Recipe
dash salt 1/2 teaspoon vinegar 3/4 cup chopped walnuts 2 egg whites 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup chocolate chips, melted and cooled 1/2 cup sugar
Beat salt and egg whites until foamy. Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form. Add vinegar and vanilla. Fold in chocolate and walnuts. Drop by spoonfuls on parchment paper and bake at 350° 11-12 minutes.
No Bake Sugar Bread Cookies
1 tsp butter 1 slice white bread (flavorful bread such as buttermilk) 2 tsps sugar
Spread butter on bread, sprinkle with sugar.
Carob Mint Dog Cookies
1 cup fresh whole mint leaves 2 cups water 1 cup carob powder 1/2 cup honey 1 egg 3/4 cup canola oil 3 cups whole wheat flour 1 cup brown or cane sugar
Preheat oven to 350° Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Flour your hands and form dough into small balls then pat them flat. Place cookies on a baking sheet and bake 20-40 minutes.
Basic Christmas Sugar Cookie
6 cups flour 1 1/2 tsps vanilla 2 cups butter 4 tbsps milk 2 1/2 cups sugar 3/4 tsp salt 3 eggs
Divide dough in half. Chill 1 hour. Roll out half of dough 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. Cut out cookies in desired shapes. Use greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° F for 11-12 minutes.
Sugar Cookie Frosting
4 cups confectioners sugar 1/2 cup butter, softened green food coloring 1 tsp vanilla extract 5-6 tbsps whipping cream
In mixing bowl, combine confectioners' sugar, extract, butter, and enough cream to achieve spreading consistency. Add food coloring (if desired) and frost cookies.
